APPRAISAL
Those
seeking appraisals should be aware that NO
responsible appraiser can appraise long-distance. Even to cite “ball
park” figures can be quite dangerous!
Appraisal is an eyes-on,
hands-on activity, and a professional service for which fees are charged.
With most old books, the best route to valuation help is the oldest-fashioned
one: Take the book to a nearby bookseller and show it to him,
or her. Your local yellow pages can direct you to your local booksellers.
As
a further option, the Antiquarian
Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) offers, at its website,
directories of its members organized by name, specialties, and location.
Some 60 of our fellow members list themselves specifically as
appraisers: http://www.abaa.org
Finally,
this is a site you may find very useful:

PRB&M
sincerely regrets that it can no longer perform appraisals for the general
public.
But
we thank you for thinking of us!
